Configuring optional reboot alerts

One of the advanced options got tripped up yesterday during June 2015’s Leap Second, causing a rash of reboot notifications, despite otherwise healthy uptimes.

In our research, we realized that leap seconds are sporadic, their announcement is not widely acknowledged, and well, it’s not simple to simulate a clock going 19:59:60 before changing to 20:00:00 CST.

The result was a number of false reboot notifications, which we want to acknowledge. We will build in protection against this in time for the next potential leap second this December, and into our upcoming Beacon reporting, focused on warning if a computer can’t report in as little as 5 minutes.
