Privacy Policy
Effective Date: August 23, 2025
Monitoring Client LLC, doing business as Watchman Monitoring (“Watchman Monitoring,” “WM,” “we,” “our,” or “us”), is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you use our services, including our monitoring software (“Agent”) and our website at www.watchmanmonitoring.com (together, the “Services”).
This Privacy Policy replaces prior versions and was updated in August 2025 to reflect the transfer of Watchman Monitoring to Monitoring Client LLC.
1. Data Collected by the Agent
Our monitoring Agent is designed to provide best-in-class issue detection with minimal collection of personal information.
Information Collected
-
Unique ID: A random identifier is generated at installation.
-
Group name: Assigned by the subscriber to organize reports.
-
Computer details: Serial number, hostname/computer name, and the short username of the last logged-in user.
-
Backup status: In some cases, the email address tied to online backup systems may be reported. Admins can disable this.
Information Not Collected
The Agent does not:
-
Track screen or keyboard activity
-
Inspect browser history, emails, documents, or other user-created files
-
Send raw system logs (only summarized test results are reported)
-
Collect a computer’s physical location (except when a device is reported stolen or missing, in which case an admin may request a one-time reporting of the IP address)
The Agent uses read-only commands. It is not a computer management system. Issues are reported only to the subscriber (typically an IT professional or organization).
