(Legacy) Updating Linux Monitoring Client

This article is out of date

It covers an older version, or something we no longer offer, and is kept so older links still work. Start from Installers for how things work now.

The Monitoring Client will update within 24 hours of a new release. This article provides several methods for handling out-of-date Monitoring Client for Linux.

Automatic Updates

The Linux agent does attempt automatic updates by default.

The following command will enable automatic updates and is recommended:

sudo run-client --auto-update true

Click to copy

To disable automatic updates, use the following command:

sudo run-client --auto-update false

Click to copy

Manual Update

The agent can be updated manually using the following command:

sudo run-client -F --update

Click to copy

Reinstallation

The Linux Monitoring Client can be installed over the top of any existing clients using the appropriate Linux Monitoring Client Installer method from your Dashboard.

Tip

Installing the latest Linux Monitoring Client updates the software while retaining current settings.
